The woman told officers she was running on the SV Rail-Trail between Water and Walnut Streets in Hellertown when she was confronted by an elderly man who “came out from the wooded area [and] grabbed her shirt as she ran by” around 9:30 a.m. August 20, police said.

The man “got close to her face but did not say anything” before the woman pulled away and left the area, police said.

The man had gray hair and a light complexion, police said. He was around 5 feet 7 inches tall with a red polo shirt and a tan cap.

“Be alert and report any suspicious activity,” police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hellertown Police Department at 610-759-2200.
